H&H Soul Food Restaurant has served hearty Southern and soul food classics in downtown Macon since 1959, when Inez ‘Mama Hill’ and Louise ‘Mama Louise’ Hudson opened the original location. A favorite of the Allman Brothers Band and still filled with music memorabilia, H&H serves fried chicken, oxtails, country fried steak, and made-from-scratch sides like collard greens and mac and cheese, along with its famous Soul Rolls and biscuits. Now operated by Macon’s Moonhanger Group, H&H remains one of Middle Georgia’s most beloved dining institutions.
